About this product

These are the shift control solenoids that bolt to the valve body of a Toyota K313 CVT, sold as a complete five-piece set instead of one at a time. The K313 (also stamped KA313 on the case and in the parts catalogs) is the belt-and-pulley CVT behind the 1.8L and 2.0L Corolla from 2014 up, and the same family of units shows up in the JDM Allion, Auris, Premio, Wish and Ractis. When one solenoid in the stack drifts out of spec the transmission control module loses the pressure it is commanding, and you end up chasing a fault that is not actually mechanical.

The symptoms that send a K313 to the bench are consistent: a hard bump going into drive or reverse, engine rpm flaring away from road speed on a light throttle pull, the lockup clutch shuddering at steady cruise, or the car dropping into limp with pressure-control and solenoid-circuit codes stored. Because the pulley pressure, line pressure and lockup circuits all run through this group of solenoids, a shop that replaces just the one that set a code often has the car back a month later on a different circuit. Doing the set at one time while the pan and valve body are already off is the cheaper repair.

Replacement is valve-body-off work. Drain the CVT fluid, drop the pan and the filter, unplug the internal harness, and pull the valve body down. The solenoids come out with their retaining clips or brackets; note the position of each one before removal, because they are not interchangeable across the circuits. Fit the new units dry with clean O-rings seated, torque the brackets back down, reinstall the valve body and harness, then refill with the correct Toyota CVT fluid and reset the transmission adaptives so the module relearns pressure with the new hardware.

The kit ships as five solenoids, 1.23 lb total in a 6.1 x 5.12 x 2.8 in box. Confirm your unit is a K313/KA313 by the tag on the case before ordering, since Toyota ran more than one CVT family in this period and the solenoid bodies do not cross over.
