Overhaul kit plus a Raybestos RCP96-075 friction module for 1996-2011 GM 4L80E and 4L85E rebuilds. Gaskets, seals, rings and clutches, no steels.
A banner kit is the middle step between a plain overhaul kit and a full master kit: you get the complete soft-parts package plus the clutch frictions, but no steel plates. That is exactly what most 4L80E rebuilds need, because steels that come out clean, flat, and free of heat spotting get reused. This one pairs a WIT overhaul kit (interchange W34004EA) with a Raybestos friction module, part number RCP96-075.
Fitment is the 1996-2011 GM 4L80E and 4L85E. That is the heavy-duty four-speed behind the 5.7, 6.0, 8.1 and 6.5/6.6 diesel in Chevrolet Silverado 2500 and 3500, Suburban 2500, Express, GMC Sierra 2500/3500, Savana and Yukon XL 2500, plus Hummer H1 and the Workhorse and motorhome chassis running the same unit. The 1991-1995 4L80E uses different sealing parts, so check the build year before you order.
The overhaul side contains the gaskets, lip seals, O-rings, sealing rings, check balls and small vital parts you strip out during teardown. The Raybestos module is the friction stack for the forward, direct, overrun and intermediate clutches plus the band, all in the correct counts for the unit. On the bench you soak the frictions in clean ATF before assembly, air check each drum after it is built, and set clutch clearance with the steels you kept - so mic your old steels for thickness and check them for cone and heat discoloration before you decide to reuse them.
This is the kit for a unit that came apart with burnt frictions and clean hard parts: slipping on the 1-2 or 3-4, delayed or soft engagement into drive, or a unit cooked by towing over its rating. If the steels are blue, dished, or the drum is scored, step up to a master kit with new steels instead of reusing what you pulled out.
