ZF 6HP26 Transmission Solenoid Kit with Harness 11-Piece

This is the complete eleven-piece solenoid set for the ZF 6HP family, supplied with the internal wiring harness that bridges the solenoids to the case connector. It covers the 6HP19, 6HP21, 6HP26 and 6HP32 units found under BMW 3, 5, 6 and 7 Series, X3, X5 and X6, Jaguar S-Type, XJ and XK, Land Rover Discovery and Range Rover, and the Audi and VW applications that use the same ZF six-speed. Solenoids are the first thing to look at when a 6HP starts shifting hard, flaring between gears, holding a gear too long, or dropping into limp with pressure-control and shift-solenoid codes stored. The bores and the solenoid windings wear with heat and mileage, and by the time the fluid is dark the response is already off. Replacing the whole set at once is the right call - swapping one solenoid on a unit with 120,000 miles on it usually just moves the complaint to the next one.

On the bench the job runs off the bottom of the unit. Drain and drop the pan, pull the filter, unplug the case connector and release it, then unbolt the mechatronic unit and lay it out flat. The solenoids come off with their retaining clips, and the harness lifts off the top of the valve body as an assembly. Keep the solenoids in order as you pull them so each new one goes back in the same bore, torque the mechatronic bolts evenly, and refill with the correct ZF Lifeguard-spec fluid through the fill plug with the unit at temperature.

Because the harness is included, this also fixes the case where the old bridge harness has chafed or wicked fluid up the wire and is throwing intermittent electrical faults that clear and come back. Check the sleeve at the case connector while you are in there - a wet connector is the giveaway.
