4L60E Master Rebuild Kit 2004-2010 GM Truck and SUV

This is a master-level overhaul kit for the GM 4L60E in its late configuration, covering 2004-2010 Silverado, Sierra, Tahoe, Yukon, Suburban, Avalanche, Escalade, Express and Savana, plus the 4L65E and 4L70E variants that share the same case and clutch layout. Manufacturer part number is CXT-GN02483. Master level means it carries the friction plates and steels along with the soft parts, so you are not ordering a separate clutch module partway through the job.

In the kit: frictions and steel plates for the 2-4 band apply, forward, direct, overrun and low-reverse packs, the pan and valve body gaskets, the full seal and O-ring set including the Teflon and lathe-cut rings, the metal-clad front and rear seals, and the pan filter. Late 4L60E units from 2004 up use the different input housing and 300mm converter hub, so a 1993-2003 kit will fight you on the pump seal and input shaft rings. Confirm your year before you order.

Typical reasons a unit lands on the bench with this kit next to it: the 3-4 clutch burning up and killing third and fourth, a slipping 2-4 band, the forward pack going away so the truck moves in reverse but not drive, or a converter that came apart and pumped debris through the whole unit. On any of those, replace all the frictions rather than the failed pack alone. Air-check each circuit before the valve body goes back on, set clutch clearance to spec with the selective plates, and flush or replace the cooler before you refill, because debris left in the cooler will come straight back and take the new clutches out.

Kit weighs 12.65 lb and ships in one box. It does not include hard parts, a sun shell, a pump or a torque converter, and it is not a shift-correction kit.
