4L60E Deep Aluminum Transmission Pan with Filter and Gasket

This is a deeper-than-stock aluminum oil pan for the GM 4L60E family. It bolts on in place of the stamped steel pan and ships with a filter, a pan gasket and a magnetic drain plug. It replaces part numbers 24240207, 24215535, 24209295, 24229658 and the Dorman-style 265-811 pan.

The pan fits the 4L60E, 4L65E and 4L70E in Silverado and Sierra 1500/2500, Tahoe, Yukon and Yukon XL, Suburban, Avalanche, Express and Savana vans, Astro and Safari, S10, Blazer, Jimmy and Sonoma, Colorado and Canyon, Trailblazer, Envoy, Rainier, Bravada, Ascender and 9-7X, the H2, Escalade, SSR and GTO. Before you order, confirm your pan has the common 16-bolt 4L60E pattern.

This pan makes sense on a truck that tows or runs hot, or on one where the old steel pan is bent, rusted through at the drain area or seeping at the rail. Aluminum sheds heat faster than thin steel, and the added depth holds more fluid. Use the filter that comes in the kit, because a stock filter can sit at the wrong height in a deeper pan. After a pan swap, check the fluid level hot and in park, since the fill amount will not match the stock number.
