4L60E Valve Body Assembly 74740PC for 2003-2008 GM

A complete valve body assembly for the GM 4L60E, listed under part number 74740PC for 2003-2008 GM vehicles. A worn 4L60E valve body is behind a lot of problems that get blamed on clutches. Bore wear around the TCC regulator and isolator valves sets P1870 (transmission component slipping) and causes shudder or no lockup. Worn AFL and pressure regulator bores cause soft or late shifts, and a stuck shift valve can leave the truck stuck in one gear with no hard fault. If the clutches are healthy and the codes keep coming back after solenoids have been replaced, the casting is usually the problem.

Install: drain and drop the pan, pull the filter, and unplug the internal harness from each solenoid and the pressure switch manifold. Note where the valve body bolts go (they are different lengths), unhook the manual valve link, and lower the valve body straight down so the checkballs in the separator plate stay put. Check the checkball positions against your old unit, use new separator plate gaskets, torque the bolts in a spiral from the center out to factory spec, reconnect everything, and fill with fresh ATF plus a new filter. Clear adaptive learning with a scan tool and road-test through all gears and lockup.

Fitment note: 2003-2008 4L60E. The 1993-2002 castings use different solenoids and a different manifold, so check the year before ordering.
