New pistons are the reason to pick this one. Worn or cracked piston seals on the 3-4, forward and overrun circuits cause the same slipping and flare you get from burnt clutches, and reusing old pistons in a fresh build is a common reason a rebuild comes back. Replacing frictions, steels and pistons together gives each pack a known-good starting point.
On the bench: soak the frictions, lube the new piston seals and install the pistons without rolling a lip, stack each pack and check clearance to spec, then air check each circuit. Confirm the valve body gasket matches your 2004-up case before the valve body goes on. Hard parts such as drums, the sun shell and bushings are not included.
