Full 4L60E overhaul kit with frictions, steels, seals, gaskets and filter for 2004-2010 Silverado, Sierra, Tahoe, Yukon and Escalade rebuilds.
A master rebuild kit for the GM 4L60E, also covering the 4L65E and 4L70E that share its core hardware, laid out for the 2004-2010 generation of trucks and SUVs. It is the parts pile you want on the bench before the case is split: clutch frictions and steels for the packs, the rubber and sealing ring set, gaskets, and a new pan filter, all in one box so you are not chasing individual pieces mid-job.
Listed fitment includes 2004-2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and Tahoe (4.3L, 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, 6.2L), 2004-2007 GMC Sierra 1500 and Savana 1500, 2004-2010 GMC Yukon, 2004-2006 Cadillac Escalade, 2007-2008 Avalanche, 2004-2005 Corvette, and 2004-2010 Colorado/Canyon. Confirm your unit is a 4L60E-family transmission (RPO M30/M32/M70) before ordering.
On the bench: tear down, clean and inspect the case, drums, pump and valve body, then soak the new frictions in fresh Dexron VI for at least 30 minutes. Replace every lip seal, piston seal and sealing ring rather than reusing any, stack the packs and check clearances against the service manual, and finish with the new filter and pan gasket. Burnt 3-4 and forward clutch packs, slipping in overdrive, and delayed engagements are the usual reasons these units come apart, and a full kit is how you address all of them in one pass instead of coming back for a second teardown.
Hard parts are not included. Inspect the sun shell, input drum, reaction carrier and pump for wear, and budget for them separately if they are damaged.
