4L60E Rebuild Kit with Band, Frictions and Filter, 2007-Up

A Remco rebuild kit for the late-style GM 4L60E, 4L65E and 4L70E (2007-up). It is supplied as six items that cover the soft parts of a full overhaul: the friction plate sets, a 2-4 band, the bushing, a pan filter, and the overhaul gasket and seal kit with the pan gasket, case-to-pump and valve body gaskets, lip seals, piston seals and sealing rings. Remco part number FD-IK-01.

This is the kit for a unit that came in slipping, flaring on the 2-3 or 3-4 shift, or with a burnt 2-4 band after the usual 4L60E failures: a cracked sun shell, a burnt 3-4 pack, or a worn servo bore. Replace the damaged hard parts first; this kit restores the wear items so the rebuilt unit holds pressure and applies clean. Steels are not listed as included, so inspect yours for heat bluing and flatness and replace them if they are cooked.

On the bench: tear down and clean the case and every drum, check the pump and drum bushings for wear, then soak the new frictions in ATF for at least 30 minutes before stacking them. Install the new seals and rings, set 3-4 and forward clutch clearances to the service manual range, fit the new band, and finish with the filter and pan gasket. Fill with Dexron VI.

Built for the 2007-up case and valve body gasket pattern. Earlier 1993-2006 units use different gaskets, so confirm the model year before ordering.
