Plug-in harness that runs a GM 4L60E without a PCM or TCM, so the gear follows the shifter position. Built for swaps, race cars, and off-road builds.
This is a standalone manual-shift harness for the GM 4L60E four-speed automatic. It plugs into the round transmission case connector and drives the shift solenoids from the shifter position, so the transmission runs with no PCM, no TCM, no speed sensor input, and no throttle position sensor. The gear you select on the column or floor shifter is the gear the transmission holds.
It is the common fix for a 4L60E going behind an engine that has no GM computer to control it: carbureted small-block swaps, older trucks getting an overdrive upgrade, dirt track and drag cars, rock crawlers, and off-road builds where a full standalone TCM is more than the job needs. It also works as a get-home or diagnostic harness when you need to prove whether a shifting problem is in the transmission or in the computer and wiring.
Install is plug and play with no internal changes to the transmission. The kit includes the case-connector harness with its inline module, a rocker switch with an indicator lamp, extra wire, and crimp and ring terminals for the power, ground, and switch connections. The shifter must have the full seven positions (P R N D 3 2 1) for all gears to be selectable, and it works on both 2WD and 4WD 4L60E units.
Keep in mind that a manual-shift setup does exactly what the lever says, so the driver is responsible for shift timing. Keep the fluid level right, and have the wiring connections made by someone comfortable with automotive electrical work.
