4L60E Transmission Solenoid Kit, 5-Piece, 1993-2002

This is a full five-solenoid set for the early-style GM 4L60E (and the 4L65E that shares its valve body layout), covering 1993 through 2002 Chevy, GMC, Cadillac, Buick, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Hummer, Isuzu and Saab applications. You get the A (1-2) and B (2-3) shift solenoids, the 3-2 downshift solenoid, the EPC pressure control solenoid and the TCC PWM solenoid.

The usual reasons to replace them as a set: codes P0751/P0756 (shift solenoid A/B performance), P0748 or P1860-type EPC and TCC circuit codes, harsh or late shifts, no lockup, or a truck that starts in second or third. Once one solenoid on a high-mileage 4L60E has failed, the rest are usually tired, and the pan and valve body are already open, so doing all five at once saves a second teardown.

On the bench: drop the pan and filter, unplug the internal harness, and remove the solenoids from the valve body. The shift solenoids are held by retaining clips, the TCC PWM and 3-2 solenoids by bolts, and the EPC solenoid by its bracket. Swap each one for its matching replacement, check the O-rings seat cleanly, reconnect the harness, and install a new filter and pan gasket before refilling with Dexron VI.

Verify your transmission is the pre-2003 style before ordering; 2003-up 4L60E units use a different solenoid and pressure switch arrangement.
