Locks into the F-150 transmission so you can check 6R80 and 10R80 fluid level hot and running from up top, instead of reaching past the exhaust to the factory fill plug.
Ford did not give the 2011-up F-150 a transmission dipstick from the factory. To check the fluid you either drop under the truck to the sealed fill plug and bring the pan to a set temperature, or you guess. This locking braided dipstick replaces that setup (OE reference 22200) and puts a real check tool back into the transmission so you can read the level from up top with the engine running.
It fits the 6R80, 10R80, 4R70E and 4R75E transmissions in F-150 trucks 2010-2017, plus the 2011-2014 and 2017-2023 Raptor. The tube is aluminum with a stainless steel braided line, an o-ring seal at the cap and a rubber-sealed fitting at the pan, and it locks in place so it does not back out from heat cycling or vibration. These transmissions are meant to be checked hot and running, and this keeps your hand and the line clear of the exhaust instead of reaching around the catalytic converter with the stock arrangement.
One thing to do on install: the new stick ships with no factory hot or cold marks. Before you pull the old setup, note the level, get the fluid to the correct temperature, then scribe your full mark on the new dipstick so it reads true for your truck. On the 10R80 the braided line can sit long, so route it to keep it off the exhaust and set your mark from an accurate temperature check. Ships from the USA.
