JF015E CVT Master Rebuild Kit with Filter and Pistons

This is a master rebuild kit for the Jatco JF015E CVT, which Nissan calls the RE0F11A. It bundles the soft parts you need once the unit is out of the car: clutch friction plates, steel plates, the pistons, seals and gaskets, and a new filter. It cross-references to Nissan part numbers 31728-3JX0A and 31726-1XF02.

The JF015E is the small-displacement CVT behind the 1.6L and 1.8L engines, and the seller lists it for the Nissan Versa and Versa Note, Sentra, Rogue and Rogue Sport, plus Altima, Maxima, Murano, Pathfinder, Quest and NV applications from 2013 to 2019. Check the transmission tag and the part number on your old filter before you order, because Nissan used more than one CVT across those nameplates and the larger units take a different kit.

These units usually come in for a whine that climbs with speed, a shudder on takeoff, or a no-reverse or no-drive condition after the forward clutch or reverse brake burns up. On the bench, tear the unit down, inspect the pulleys, belt and the pulley bearings before you commit to the rebuild, soak the new frictions in the correct CVT fluid, and replace every piston and seal in the kit rather than reusing the old ones. Install the new filter and refill with the Nissan CVT fluid the vehicle calls for.
