Replaces the stretched drive chain in a Toyota/Lexus K114 CVT so the pulleys grip again after belt slip, shudder or a hard-launch flare.
This is the drive chain for the Aisin K114 continuously variable transmission, the belt-and-pulley unit Toyota and Lexus have run since 2012. It is a remanufactured OE-pattern chain that also covers the K115 variant, and it is the part you need when the chain itself has stretched past the pulley clamp range rather than when the pulley faces or the oil pump are the problem.
Fitment covers Lexus NX200t and NX300h 2014 and up, Toyota RAV4 2012-2019, Toyota Harrier Hybrid 2013 and up, and Toyota C-HR 2017 and up, all with the CVT. Check the transmission tag or the VIN before ordering - the K114 and K115 chains interchange with each other but nothing from the older K111 or the newer Direct Shift CVT carries over.
The symptom that sends a K114 to the bench is slip under load: engine speed flares on a hard launch, the car shudders at light throttle around 25-40 mph, and the trans stores ratio-control codes because the ECU cannot hold commanded ratio. Once the case is split, lay the old chain next to the new one and check the pin wear - a stretched chain rides deeper in the pulley sheaves and the secondary pulley piston runs out of travel trying to compensate.
This is a case-off job. The chain and both pulley sets come out as an assembly, and the chain has to go back with the pulley halves aligned and the secondary clamping pressure set correctly, so plan on a full teardown, new pulley bearings and seals, and a fluid and filter service on reassembly. No instructions are included and the chain carries a 6-month limited warranty that excludes install damage, so this is bench work for someone who has been inside a CVT before.
