Standalone engine and 4L60E harness for 1997-2006 drive-by-cable 4.8, 5.3 and 6.0 LS swaps, with a 36 inch longer PCM run for under-dash mounting.
This is a standalone wiring harness for swapping a 1997-2006 Gen III LS engine (4.8L, 5.3L or 6.0L) with a 4L60E automatic into a vehicle that never had one. It is the drive-by-cable (DBC) version, so it is meant for engines running a cable-operated throttle body, not the later electronic throttle. The harness runs the engine and the 4L60E off one PCM, and it follows GM wire color codes, so a factory wiring diagram still lines up when you troubleshoot.
The PCM leg is 36 inches longer than stock, which lets you mount the computer under the dash instead of in the engine bay. The firewall grommet slides along the harness so you can set the pass-through where it suits your firewall. Circuits routed near heat are wrapped in fiberglass braid, and the grounds use reinforced ring terminals.
The dash side includes the connections most swaps need: speedometer, tachometer, park/neutral, TCC, check engine light and a DLC port for a scan tool. The photos also show a relay and fuse block on the harness, spare terminals and two ground studs in the package.
A swap harness does not tune the PCM. Your computer still needs a VATS-off program that matches your engine, transmission and gear ratio, or the engine will crank and not stay running and the 4L60E will shift wrong. Confirm your throttle body is cable driven before you order.
