Vacuum-only MityVac hand pump for the Sonnax valve-body vacuum test, checking vacuum modulators, and pulling ATF. Reaches 25 in-Hg with gauge and adapters.
This is the plain vacuum-only MityVac, the MV8010 Selectline hand pump, and it is the one the Sonnax valve-body vacuum-test procedure actually calls for. Cap off a valve-body passage, pull vacuum on the bore you are checking, and watch the gauge: a bore that holds near 25 in-Hg is in spec, while a worn 4L60E, 4L80E, or 700R4 bore that bleeds down is telling you where the pressure loss and soft shifts are coming from before you ever put the unit back in the car. It reads the leak instead of guessing at it.
Away from the bench it does the everyday vacuum jobs too. Test vacuum modulators and the vacuum lines on older GM TH350, TH400, and Ford C6 units, check any diaphragm or control that needs to hold a sealed vacuum, and use the 4.5 oz reservoir to draw ATF out of tight spots or bleed a hydraulic clutch by yourself. The pump pulls up to 25 in-Hg (85 kPa) at sea level through a gearless diaphragm gauge, with a one-finger release to drop vacuum without setting the tool down.
The kit ships with the MV8010 pump, the 4.5 oz fluid reservoir, four tapered adapters, and tubing. Note this is a vacuum-only tool: it does not make pressure. If you need to pressure-test as well as vacuum-test, that is the MV8500 Silverline. For straight vacuum diagnostics and one-person fluid work, this is the pump techs have reached for since 1971.
