Pulls and installs the extension housing (tailshaft) bushing on GM 700R4, 4L60E, 200-4R, TH350 and Borg-Warner T5 cases without cracking the housing.
The rear extension housing bushing is what centers the slip yoke and rides against the driveshaft yoke. When it wears, you get a driveline vibration, a fluid leak past the rear seal, and eventually yoke slop that chews up the seal again a week after you replace it. Swapping the seal alone never fixes it — the bushing behind it has to come out and a new one has to go in square. That is exactly what this T-0160 tool does.
It works as both a puller and an installer. To remove, you slide the remover through the old bushing, run the drive screw down by hand, and draw the bushing straight out of the housing — no chisel, no punch, no gouging the aluminum bore. To install, you set the new bushing in the housing mouth and tap it home with the installer mandrel so it seats flush and true instead of cocked.
Fitment covers the common GM cases that share this tailshaft bushing size: TH180, TH200, 200-4R, TH350, 700R4 and 4L60E, plus the Borg-Warner / Tremec T5 (including World-Class T5) and NV1500 manual boxes. It handles bushings with a 1.500 in minimum inner diameter and a 1.700 in maximum outer diameter.
Made from heat-treated steel. Comes as the two-piece puller and installer set shown. Keep it on the bench with your seal drivers — anytime a rear seal is out, this is the tool that makes the repair last.
