Master overhaul kit for the ZF 6HP26/6HP28 six-speed: friction clutches, steels, gaskets, rings and seals to rebuild BMW, Jaguar and Land Rover units.
This is a complete master rebuild kit for the ZF 6HP26 six-speed longitudinal automatic and its close relatives the 6HP26A and 6HP28. It bundles the friction clutch plates plus the full overhaul set: the gasket kit, the metal-clad lip seals, the sealing rings and every O-ring and rubber part needed to strip the unit and put it back together without chasing individual part numbers. It supersedes the OE 1068298051 overhaul kit (equivalent to the ATP LMS-12 master repair set).
Fitment is the rear-wheel and all-wheel drive 6HP26 family. That covers 2002-2010 BMW 3, 5, 6 and 7 Series along with the E53 X5 and E71 X6 (550i and 750i included), 2003-2010 Jaguar S-Type, XJ and XK, and 2004-2011 Land Rover Discovery 3 and Range Rover with the ZF six-speed. The 6HP26 changed internally across those years, so match the friction and steel stack and the mechatronic/valve-body version to what actually comes out of your case before you build.
Most 6HP26 units reach the bench for high-mileage clutch wear, harsh or slipping shifts, and the well-known mechatronic sleeve and adapter (Bridge) seal leaks that drop line pressure. When you rebuild, replace all the frictions as a set, renew every lip seal and sealing ring, and fit new sleeve and Bridge/adapter seals while the valve body is out. Soak the new clutches in ATF before assembly, set each pack to clearance as you stack it, and refill with the correct ZF 6-speed Lifeguard 6 / equivalent ATF on a level fill.
