722.6 Conductor Plate Kit with Filter and Pan Gasket

This is the electro-hydraulic conductor plate that bolts to the valve body inside the pan of a Mercedes 722.6 five-speed automatic. It carries the shift solenoids, the pressure regulator, and the two speed sensors, and it is the single part that fails most often on this transmission once it has miles on it.

When the plate goes bad you get limp home mode stuck in second or third, a hard 2-3 shift, no lockup, or the transmission dropping out of gear on a hot restart. The other classic symptom is fluid wicking up the thirteen pin connector and running down the harness toward the control module, which is why a new connector plug and its gasket are included here rather than sold separately. If the old plug is wet with ATF, replace it while the pan is off.

On the bench the job goes: drain and drop the pan, pull the filter, unclip the thirteen pin connector from the outside of the case and push the plug through, unbolt the plate from the valve body, and swap in the new one. Reuse nothing. Fit the new filter and the new pan gasket that come in the kit, torque the pan bolts evenly, refill with the correct ATF, and reset the adaptations before road testing.
